What is the Consolidated Helper -0 snapshot

Information:

When ESX/ESXi commits a snapshot to disk it first creates this consolidated helper snapshot, then folds the other snapshots into this snapshot. The host then removes the consolidated helper snapshot.

 

When it gets left behind it indicates that the ESX/ESXi host is having performance issue most likely relating to disk IO, but may be processor, or memory as well.
